Outreach at Hocking College

First Presbyterian Church has engaged in a number of outreach efforts at Hocking College, located in Nelsonville. Over the years, Hocking students have found a home in our church through its weekly worship services, Bible studies, and ministry efforts. We have led spring break work trips in which students have engaged their faith through service in our regional area. We have hosted student-led “open-mic” cafes where the Hocking community has enjoyed the sharing of music and fellowship.

Food for Thought, a campus ministry that has been shared with area churches, reaches out to students through serving a grab-and-go weekly lunch at the Student Center. This interaction serves as a great opportunity to meet and have conversation with new students. We have held Bible studies on campus and hosted fun social gatherings, including “Grocery Bingo,” and Bible trivia.
